    The opportunity:

    Visy Glass is Australia and New Zealand's largest manufacturer of recycled glass bottles and jars consisting of 5 plants across Australia and New Zealand.

    We are currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Visy Glass operation in South Brisbane, with the view to transfer to our new state of the art facility located in Yatala at the end of 2025. This is a permanent full-time, fixed day shift, 35 hrs pw, 9-day fortnight, RDO every 8th Friday

    Reporting to the Inspection and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for repairing & maintaining plant and equipment within a 24/7 fast-paced environment.

    Key accountabilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Be reactive to breakdowns minimising downtime in the cold end.
  • Attend to job changes and the setup of the inspection machine.
  • Carry out routine checks and planned maintenance to preserve efficiency of machines.
  • Assist in fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs of machinery.
  • Maintain stock levels of spare parts to assist in making components for repairs.
  • Update and maintain data records on works carried out.
  • Uphold and adhere to company policies and procedures in Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • What you will bring to the team:

  • Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent, and post trade qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Solid experience working within a continuous process manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and diagnostic ability, and someone that cooperates and works well with others.
  • MS Excel & SAP experience desirable.
