    Description

    We are looking for energetic Chef to be part of our team in Bombay Vintage Brighton, South Australia. We offer authentic Indian cuisine in a fun & stylish atmosphere. If you are adaptable, open minded, flexible, creative, fun, have a sense of humour and can be organised and follow our procedures then you are the right person to apply for this position.

    Roles and Responsibilities Includes but not limited to:-

    • Follow quality standard and prepare various food items, including vegetables, poultry, meats, and seafood for cooking using different methods and kitchen equipment, such as Tandoor, oven, boilers, fryers and grills;
    • Maintain a high standard of quality control of all goods and cost control;
    • Ensure quality of food and determine size of food proportions, work with minimal supervision;
    • Ensures that food is stored, prepared and secured hygienically and safely;
    • Assists in maintaining standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all kitchens and related areas;
    • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards;
    • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage;
    • Create new dishes and ideas for menu when necessary;
    • Use of seasonal and exotic fruits and vegetables;
    • Creativity to re-vamp our menu from time to time;
    • Order supplies and equipment, supervise kitchen staff and helpers;
    • Maintain inventory and records of food and supplies;
    • Prepare and serve food items for guests with food allergies or intolerances;
    • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions;
    • Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate.

    To be considered for this role, you should:

    • Hold an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
    • Have at least 3 year local work experience in Indian Cuisine
    • Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members;
    • Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Able to work in a fast paced environment; multitask and handle stress;
    • Able to commit beyond normal working hours as when required.

    Annual Salary : AUD 70, ,000
