    ING Australia is looking for a Senior Manager 1st Line Risk –Mortgages to join our Mortgage Leadership Team. It's a terrific opportunity to join the Tribe and make a difference. We create products our customers will love and tell their friends about, in the year ahead we have some key initiatives to drive growth for the retail bank and the tribe. In this exciting and challenging role, you are part of our business leadership team and an essential contributor to ING's strategic objectives. You'll report to the Tribe Lead where you'll implement the 3LOD model for Mortgages through the organisation and work in partnership with Mortgage stakeholders to identify, manage and monitor key operational risks. You'll support the Tribe in the execution of all risk related activities and play a pivotal role in building effective relationships with our risk and compliance partners.

    What You'll Do

    • Implement the 3LOD model for Mortgages through the organisation and embedding the processes and structure as part of the Tribe's Way of Working
    • Work in partnership with Mortgage stakeholders, identify and review all operational risks in the product lifecycles, design mitigating controls and underlying processes
    • Develop an assurance capability to establish operating effectiveness of the control framework
    • Work with 2nd line to ensure regulatory obligation related controls are properly designed and operating
    • Lead the prioritisation and management of all audit outcomes, events and issues that may arise, ensuring timely resolution and closure
    • Lead best practice implementation of relevant policies, process and procedures, seeking clarification where required from risk partners and advocating for rationalisation where opportunities exist.
    • Create and monitor key risk indicators and identifying opportunities to improve the tribe's compliance and risk management performance

    What We're Looking For

    • 5+ years of relevant experience of which must have demonstrated experience in 1st Line Risk
    • Experience in a customer environment, where the customer needs are at the heart of the proposition development
    • A natural curiosity, is passionate about the business and who will thrive in a team environment
    • Initiative and drive, a true self-starter who is a strong collaborator and can influence to drive outcomes and manage stakeholder expectations
    • Strong influencing skills and ability to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved whilst managing stakeholder expectations
    • Excellent understanding of operational risks and control frameworks in Banking
    • Experience in incident investigations, particularly root cause analysis.
    • Successful track record at leading an end to end risk and control self-assessment process, inclusive of driving agreement for management actions plans to improve risk profile outcomes.
