    Work Location: Perth - Fortescue's Bennett Street office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

    Roster: Monday to Friday

    As a Specialist Category Management, you are passionate, honest, enthusiastic, and willing to step up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement driven organisation.

    The purpose of the Specialist Category Management is to provide specialist procurement advice on a category/range of material and services categories to assist the Fortescue Hydrogen Systems to plan, develop, source, and manage procurement arrangements to meet organisational and business objectives effectively and efficiently.

    This position would be best suited to an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a high level of flexibility, is strategic and proactive with strong stakeholder engagement abilities.

    Previous experience in a manufacturing, product development/innovation or similar industry is desirable.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate sourcing and tender packages for major categories.
    • Supplier relationship management - deliver value through effective management of strategic supplier relationships.
    • Category management and strategic sourcing – assisting the development of category strategies and the end-to-end sourcing process. Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with Contracts and Procurement policies and procedures.
    • Negotiating – Assisting in negotiating strategies and contract terms for complex, high risk and high value contracts, which drive value for Fortescue and our supplier partners.
    • Governance and risk management - ensure business objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.
    • Develop well written, well-structured procurement documentation that supports the product requirements.
    • Generate reports, innovative commercial models, and market analysis to support procurement decision-making.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in commerce, business, law, or construction desirable
    • Work in a fast-paced procurement environment across multiple packages
    • Demonstrated experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement across multiple disciplines
    • At least 5 years of Contracts and / or Category Management experience (Principal and/or Manufacturer) within Mining or similar Heavy Industries
    • High level written skills with excellent attention to detail
    • Understanding and ability to apply various commercial models to deliver best cost and schedule outcomes.
    • Understanding of contractual concepts to enable proactive and efficient contract negotiation.
