Our Federal Government client has a requirement for an experienced IT Security Advisor to provide general advice on security architecture, Essential Eight strategies, cloud security settings, Information Security Manual (ISM) controls and cyber technology.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver and maintain ICT security policies, plans and procedures
• Deliver, maintain and present ICT security training for staff members.
• Provide technical security advice in the planning and implementation of new hardware and software solutions
• Develop system authorisation documentation
• Maintain currency and expertise in security related technologies, standards, trends, issues and solutions
• Assist in security investigations and review system audit trails and logs
• Apply innovative secure solutions to customer-centric ICT projects
• Assist in developing and improving disaster recovery and business continuity plans for ICT systems managed by the Agency
• Develop security risk assessments and system security plans
• Maintain and monitor network security systems

To be successful you will have:

• Demonstrated experience configuring and deploying technology solutions
• Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory
• Good understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (ISM, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.)
• Experience working with Azure/AWS cloud, particularly from a security perspective
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable

Duration - ASAP to 31st March 2024

Location - Canberra, A.C.T

Clearance/Eligibility - Active Baseline is essential - NV1 or NV2 is preferred

Working arrangements - Flexible working arrangements may be considered subject to operational requirements. Interstate applicants will be considered, however training on-site for a minimum period of 8 weeks is mandatory. Travel to various locations/sites within the ACT and interstate may be required.
