    Speech Pathologist Grade 1 (VP5-7) - Grade 2 (VW1-4)

    What You Will Be Doing

    You will be providing adult acute and Acute Rehabilitation Program (ARP) speech pathology services within multidisciplinary inpatient teams, with flexible senior support based at Frankston Hospital 4 days per week (or equivalent hours over 5 days per week).

    Acute inpatient services include a variety of general medical and surgical units.

    ARP provides early rehabilitation in an acute setting, typically after a patient has spent a period of time as an acute inpatient.

    The role provides speech pathology assessment and management in the areas of communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders with a focus on supporting effective discharge planning.


    Acute and ARP services and teams complement one another, and senior staff support effective communication and teamwork.

    Grade 2 Speech Pathologists provide clinical supervision and teaching to Grade 1 Speech Pathologists, Allied Health Assistants and undergraduate students where indicated.

    Clinical supervision and internal and external professional development further support the position.
