    Description

    In this role you will:

    • Design and develop the electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, auxiliary systems and implement DC power systems for battery electric vehicles.
    • Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using MicroStation and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
    • Create electrical schematics, layouts, and selecting components such as batteries, inverters and charge controllers.
    • Provide drafting support for creating prototypes of power electronic systems, as needed.
    • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall design.
    • Assist in cost estimation for electrical components and systems, optimizing designs for cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
    • Participate in testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems identifying and resolving issues during prototype and production phases.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical designs, changes and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Utilise MicroStation and AutoCAD software proficiently for drafting, modeling and creating 2D and 3D drawings.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers to ensure project success.
    • Ensure that all electrical designs adhere to quality standards and are aligned with project objectives.

    About you:

    • Electrical, Electronics Engineering diploma or degree.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in design & drafting.
    • Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD for electrical design.
    • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
    • Sound knowledge of electrical schematic drawings, Cable Lists, Block Diagrams, Terminal Drawings, Reports & BOMs.
    • Experience with DC power component selection, including batteries, inverters, charge controllers, and power distribution systems.
    • Familiarity with different types of inverters and controllers and their compatibility with DC power systems.
    • Proven experience in designing power electronic circuits and systems, including power converters, inverters, rectifiers, and DC-DC converters.
    • Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations for power electronics design, and efficiency standards.
