    The Role

    Reporting to the GM HR and based in Sydney the Industrial Relations Manager will be providing industrial relations advice, guidance and support to the broader business, as well as leading key IR/ER strategic initiatives and EBA negotiations. The IR Manager will collaborate and partner, offering counsel on performance issues, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, grievance handling, union engagement, performance management procedures, and employment termination.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Management of ER/IR issues consulting on key policy and employment legislation issues including EA/EBA negotiations.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with unions, Fair Work Australia, and legal counsel.
    • Work closely with HR leadership and the broader business to develop and communicate policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
    • Conduct regular policy reviews to ensure alignment with labour legislation and address legal issues.
    • Lead negotiations with unions to establish and renew agreements, fostering positive relationships.
    • Design and deliver training programs on performance coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive work culture.

    About You

    It is essential that you can demonstrate significant industrial relations and or employee relations career experience within a complex business to business multi-site and field based industrial services business.You will be an exceptional communicator who is able to seamlessly integrate from blue-collar to professional level and with a proven ability to influence and contribute tactically and strategically.

    Specifically you will bring:

    • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a role dedicated to providing subject matter expertise in employee and industrial relations.
    • Demonstrated experience with enterprise bargaining, including leading the end-to-end union negotiation and implementation of enterprise agreements.
    • Experience with complex case management across a wide range of workplace relations matters, including the management and resolution of employment disputes and claims, as well as advocacy before the Fair Work Commission and other industrial tribunals.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex pieces of work in a fast-paced and high-capacity environment with a high level of attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing and coaching, and problem-solving skills.
    • Highly developed ability to collaborate and build strong stakeholder relationships and promote high levels of accountability.
    • The ability to consistently exhibit high levels of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
    • A legal qualification (LLB or JD) would be highly valued.
