  • Part Time hours – 3 days per week (with the potential of it becoming more than 21 hours per week)

  • About the opportunity

    Exciting opportunity to work as an Events Officer supporting multiple Sydney Health Partners (SHP) events, workshops, webinars and functions large and small.

    Sydney Health Partners is a strategic partnership of the University of Sydney and four Local Health Districts. A key focus of SHP is supporting people within the partnership by delivering workshops, webinars and events. The Events Officer will play a pivotal role to support our Programs Managers to increase capacity and capability within the partnership.

    Your key responsibilities will be

  • to support Sydney Health Partners events, workshops, webinars and functions
  • provide full range of administrative support to events and activities including, the maintenance of support systems such as event registration; event calendar; information collection from convenors and presenters; organising all logistical arrangements for events; preparing materials, obtaining supplier quotes/ordering and other administration requirements, room hire, organising catering etc.
  • collaborate with Comms team to develop and recommend the marketing and communication approaches for events
  • prepare and draft reporting of formal evaluations for all courses/events/webinars
  • provide feedback on evaluations in order to improve the experience of attendees where relevant
  • build rapport and develop good working relationships to effectively manage stakeholders
  • prepare and develop a standard operations procedure manual for the team
  • undertakes ad-hoc projects and other activities
  • You will have

  • demonstrated experience executing large scale events including venue management, catering, budgeting, and reporting, promotion, communications, and invitation/attendance management
  • excellent project and event management skills with a proven track record delivering large-scale events
  • extremely organised with advanced skills in standard office software packages (e.g. Word/Excel) and ability to learn and apply new systems quickly
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service (in person, phone, and email)
  • demonstrated ability to use initiative, exercise judgement, apply problem solving skills and work independently and as part of a team
  • sound project and time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • experience using event management or project management software e.g. EventBrite, Campaign Monitor etc
