    About the Role

    Tronox is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shutdown Lead to join our team at Chandala Mineral Separation Plant in Muchea on an 24 month Max Term Contract .

    Working a 9 day fortnight (5/2/4/3) you will receive every second Friday off.

    As the Shutdown Lead you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all activities related to the upcoming major shutdown in 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance, engineering, and project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex shutdown projects in industrial settings.

    Core Responsibilities:

  • Leading the shutdown team to develop and deliver successful shutdown events across the site.
  • Nurturing a high-performance culture through sharing of best practices and leading a behavioural change in execution of the shutdowns.
  • Leading and embedding the Tronox shutdown management process across the site.
  • Engaging with maintenance, operations, and support functions to create a culture of sustainable improvements and optimising plant shut performance
  • Drive sustainability and cost control efforts by identifying and implementing improvements in equipment and work procedures.
  • Take accountability for budgeting, cost control, planning, and the training and development of department employees.
  • Provide cost information to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager to aid in developing the maintenance budget and generating long-term equipment activity schedules.
  • Enhance and monitor work standards of planning team members, offering technical advice and assistance as needed.
  • About you:

    To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Project Management experience
  • Previous experience in a shutdown management.
  • Mining, mineral sands, refractory experience
  • A collaborative leadership style that fosters a high-performing culture, empowering and developing team members.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety across all levels of the organization, including contractors and third parties.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, aligning with set targets and directions even amidst market fluctuations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, along with a proficiency in Change Management principles and practices
  • Confident user of SAP and MS Suites (MS project, Excel)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
