    About the Role

    The Strategic Media and Public Relations Manager will provide timely and high-quality advice, communication collateral, and strategic plans to University leadership and the Director of Media and Public Relations.

    As a member of the University's Media and PR leadership team, the role supports the Director in building and protecting the University's reputation, working closely with the Head, Central Media and PR on institutional media matters, including issues management and high-stakes communication.

    The role oversees the University's responses to media matters, including crisis management, and aids in risk mitigation by identifying and addressing potential issues.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Proactively lead the University's media processes around response to issues and crisis management
    • Support the management of the strategic positioning of positive media coverage about the University
    • Provide high-level advice and briefings to senior management on issues
    • Identify issues as they emerge and work with stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies

    About You

    Experience in crisis communication, devising and creating communications to meet strategic objectives, project management skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

    Requirements

    Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
