    Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Event Operations Planner.

    ABOUT THE POSITION:

    The primary responsibility of the Event Operations Planneris to work with clients to successfully plan and implement events and to provide daily supervision and guidance to the event operations team.

    Some of the key duties include:

    • Work as part of a small team alongside the Senior Event Operations Planner, including daily task allocation and rostering;
    • Work with clients to prepare customised event documentation including, but not limited to, floor plans, event orders and exhibitor manuals; Read, review and communicate relevant event information; implement the event plans during the Hire Licence Period;
    • Coordinate event debriefs to identify areas to improve processes relating to the planning and delivery of events; implement process improvements where appropriate;
    • Monitor activities within each event venue and surrounding precinct to ensure clients and contractors are working in a manner within OH&S requirements providing a safe environment including acting as Warden for emergency evacuations; Ensure any risks and incidents are reported in the appropriate manner;

    The successful applicant will have:

    • Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring a team including training, rostering and daily supervision
    • Demonstrated experience in the exhibitions and events industry, including a current and detailed working knowledge of current building codes, fire safety, risk management, and regulatory requirements, including Occupational Health and Safety, Food Handling & Preparation and Liquor Licensing.
    • Demonstrated experience in the development of detailed event related plans for large scale events.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team without direct supervision.

    OTHER INFORMATION

    This is a full-time on going role. The salary on offer is $74,580 based of grade (pro rata) + 11% superannuation.
