    About the opportunity

    We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Compliance Officer (Line Clearance) tocollaboratively work across the team to undertake inspections, review incidents and conduct enforcement actions.


    You will contribute by:
    Perform end to end inspection and audit activities.

    This includes conducting inspections in the context of vegetation and electric line clearance, review of events or incidents, reporting, recording inspection findings into Energy Safe databases and monitoring progress of corrective actions to mitigate potential risks.

    Exercise appropriate powers to issue noncompliance and observations to prevent or stop unsafe situations and to enforce prescribed technical and safety requirements.

    Prepare compliance and audit reports related to inspection and audit outcomes.
    Present evidence and information to support enforcement action where relevant.
    This includes assisting with investigations and attending court as an informant where required.
    Support and deliver electricity safety programs to verify the capacity of duty holders to comply with legislation.

    Advise duty holders on safety matters in the practical application of legislation, regulations, codes of practice, standards, management plans and compliance programs.

    Represent Energy Safe at forums, such as trade events or conferences to promote Energy Safe programs and initiatives.
    Participate in the development, implementation of strategies, risk management practices and controls to systems, processes, and effective data management.
    Participate in the Energy Safe's availability roster and carry out availability duties as required.

    To be successful, you'll have:
    Qualifications in arboriculture, VESI assessor, auditing or related fields is desirable.
    Significant inspection and auditing experience in the relevant field.
    Sound knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice with ability to interpret and apply where applicable.
    Experience with or exposure to, quality assurance and risk management frameworks.
    High level communication, advocacy and dispute resolution skills that fosters effective relationships.
    Ability to prepare reports and present to a diverse range of stakeholders or act as subject matter expert.
