    1st Class CNC Machinist - Milling

    $45.00 p/h

    Newland Precision Engineering is an ISO accredited privately owned and operated company specialising in the manufacture of machinery and equipment for mining, exploration, and mineral processing sectors.At Newland Precision Engineering we pride ourselves in delivering valuable, high-quality precision engineered products and services for our customers.

    Due to our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced, highly driven, quality focused, 1st Class CNC Machinist, predominately with Milling experience, to join our team, based in Bayswater WA. The successful applicant will be responsible for producing machine parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer control (CNC) machine, in accordance with Newland Precision Engineering policies and procedures.

    The role offered is permanent fulltime and will report to the CNC Workshop Manager.

    About the Role

    · Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

    · Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.

    · Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

    · Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to quality standards.

    · Maintain specification by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting nonconformities; trouble shooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to Newland quality assurance procedures and processes.

    · Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying of repairs.

    · Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures.

    About you

    · Relevant trade certificate

    · 2+ years' experience in a similar role - Milling experience highly desirable

    · Machining Centre's, Turning Centre's and Multi-Tasking Centre's experience.

    · Understanding of Cutting Tool capabilities and metal removal techniques.

    · Experience designing, manufacturing and utilising fixtures and various work holding methods.

    · Current Drivers Licence.

    · Current Forklift License.

    · Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    · Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
