    Commercial Underwriter

    Are you ready to redefine insurance through technology? We have partnered with an Insurtech company that is on the lookout for an exceptional Senior Underwriter to drive their mission and helping businesses find the right insurance through technology.

    Reporting directly to the Founder and COO, this role will play a role in revolutionising the landscape of small business insurance in Australia. Their mission is to modernise and simplify the process of obtaining affordable insurance for small businesses, startups, and independent contractors.

    Key Responsibilities

    The technical side:

    • Work collaboratively to evaluate commercial insurance applications while complying with Australian regulations.
    • Review and analyze commercial insurance documents, considering Australian market specifics such as industry trends and regulations.
    • Conduct research to assess potential risks associated with commercial insurance applications.
    • Work with internal teams to ensure accurate processing of applications and placement with insurance partners.

    Building Alliances:

    • Develop and maintain customer relationships by understanding their insurance needs and offering tailored solutions.
    • Work closely with the founding team to present, negotiate and secure new business opportunities.
    • Prepare insurance quotes, proposals, and contracts, ensuring compliance with Australian insurance laws.
    • Provide ongoing support to clients, addressing inquiries or concerns regarding their insurance coverage.
    • Advise customers on insurance matters, including policy coverage, claims processes, and risk management.
    • Work closely with customers to build and foster trust based relationships

    Building Blocks of Insurance:

    • Using your subject matter expertise and skills to help build products that would help revolutionise the way insurance works. You will be working closely with the engineering team to bring ideas into life.
