- Lead the development and delivery of programs, policies and functions related to specialist policing services and implementation of the recommendations from State and national inquiries relating to child abuse, sexual crimes and youth justice.
- Develop and implement strategies to enable continuous improvement in the performance of a work unit or functional area, especially regional Child Protection and Investigation Units (CPIU) and Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) teams.
- Establish and maintain effective networks and partnerships with internal and external agencies and stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for the Service, including regional investigators.
- Develop and implement appropriate strategies, plans, policies and procedures that support corporate and operational activities.
- Prepare complex and comprehensive correspondence on issues relating to performance management and service delivery.
- Provide high level, evidence-based advice and timely and well-researched submissions, briefs and notes on key issues relating to the delivery of specialist policing services, emerging issues and complex policy matters.
- Manage the functions and resources of an assigned area of responsibility to ensure efficiency and effectiveness consistent with strategic organisational and operational policing objectives.

The Policy and Programs Unit in the Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group fulfils a broad range of policy and program functions focused on the operational policing areas of child protection, child death reviews, and sexual violence.
As manager of the team, you will help to drive and implement the Service's strategic agenda in relation to child protection and sexual violence, including providing capability and capacity to better support investigators responding to child abuse and sexual violence, to ensure a process of continuous improvement and organisational cultural change.
