    Job Description

    Great opportunity as part of the brand new Direk site Maintenance team to take initiative to continuously improve the existing plant equipment performance

    Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter looking to join a global ASX listed organisation and take the next step in your career?

    Reporting directly to the SA Maintenance Manager and with a dotted line into the site Service Centre Manager, you will be responsible for organising and maintaining the day-to-day running of the Service Centre's plant, equipment and facility.

    This role is on the day shift which runs from 6:00am-2:00pm Monday to Friday.

    The key responsibilities of this role include:

    • Conformance to statutory and company approved Safe Operating Procedures.
    • Effectively working and communicating with Production and other Maintenance team members to ensure plant performance is maximised across all shifts.
    • Maintaining mechanical equipment in a safe and useable condition to ensure that the workplace is safe for all staff.
    • Participate in and guidance of all maintenance procedures relating to the plant, equipment and facility.
    • Be directly responsible for the day to day mechanical serviceability of the production line to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum and undertake maintenance works for other areas of the plant as required.
    • Participating in a Preventative Maintenance Program in relation to the production line and site equipment and facilities to ensure that maintenance works are coordinated and completed in a timely manner, records of repairs and maintenance carried out are retained, and both planned and unplanned stoppages are minimised.
    • Participate as required in Projects and Modifications to improve machinery efficiency and reliability, ensuring that all work carried out is safe and considered.
    • Practicing due diligence and sound judgment in determining when contractors are required, and subsequently supervising them while on site to ensure compliance with safety requirements and minimum disruption to site activities.

    The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

    • Extensive experience working within a strong and systems-based safety culture.
    • Experience working as a maintenance tradesman in a production environment.
    • Understanding of mechanical fault finding and repair.
    • A thorough understanding of the principals of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and associated production line equipment and plant.
    • Be competent and skilled in welding and fabrication techniques in support of production line maintenance.
    • Efficient and productive use of both powered and hand tools.
    • Be competent in the use and operation of all workshop tools and equipment including but not limited to Lathes, Milling machines, Grinders etc.
    • Professional work practices and a strong work ethic.
    • Positive, constructive attitude, a strong focus on preparation and planning and a mindset geared towards effective utilisation of every second to ensure maximum plant uptime.
