    Description

    Peoplebank are recruiting for aCyber Security Engineersto work for our client based in theAdelaide CBD on an initial 6 month contract (extensions highly likely).

    Background

    Our client has initiated a multi-year Cyber Security Program to deliver key aspects of the Cyber Security Strategy, and to continue uplifting their security posture.

    To support the delivery of this Program, they are seeking to engagea Cyber Security Engineersto analyse, design and implement technical controls within their technology environment, and assist with deployment of new security capabilities predominantly associated with the Microsoft 365 suite of security capabilities.

    Responsibilities
    The IT Security Engineer plays a critical role in the planning, deployment and configuration of (predominantly Microsoft 365) security capabilities across their infrastructure, systems and applications

    Specific responsibilities include:
    Identify and assess the technology, implementation and operational requirements to deploy security capabilities across a complex environment.

    Implement, configure and deploy security capabilities (such as Windows Defender Application Control, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Multi-facture authentication using Azure AD, Microsoft Defender for Identity), and resolve deployment issues as they arise.

    Design, develop and deploy security capability policies to effectively block threats, whilst minimising impact to business as usual (e.g.
    application control policies, Attack surface reduction rules)
    Develop and implement capability processes to effectively manage operational usage of security capabilities after deployment.
    Continuously monitor and improve security capability configuration and policies to improve their security posture.
    Conduct Security Capability configuration audits to identify and remediate misconfigurations in capabilities (e.g.
    Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Defender for Endpoint).
    Contribute to the capability role out task backlog for future sprints
    Contribute to program planning and analysis for future roll out of security capabilities
    Skills and experience required
    These are hands-on roles and successful candidate will be comfortable in designing, configuring and operating technical security capabilities.
    Configuration of end points and servers in preparation of deployment of host-based security capabilities (e.g.
    Windows Defender).
    Configuration and deployment of security capability policies in accordance with organisation business and security needs.
    Implementation and operation of technical security capabilities, predominantly from the M365 security suite.
    Self-motivated and proactive ability to resolve problems and drive uplift in capability.
    Relevant cyber security certifications, such as Microsoft 365 and Azure.
    Good technical knowledge in infrastructure, End User Devices and networks.
    Solid understanding of the Essential 8 controls framework, and methods for implementing controls in a complex technology environment.
