    Ongoing and temporary legal roles (including creation of a talent pool)Based in Parramatta (flexible working offered) – other established work locations that are deemed suitable across NSW may be considered Salary relative to experience ranging from $108,153 to $121,870 + superannuation Our Legal team for the newly created Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is recruiting for multiple Legal Officers.

    There are multiple roles available including ongoing roles and other roles that vary from 6 months to 24 months.

    About You We would be thrilled to receive applications from passionate lawyers with expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas of law: Commercial Privacy and Intellectual Property Property Energy Planning Biodiversity Water Construction and Infrastructure Projects Local Government Native Title Environmental Protection; and Compliance To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated legal professional with a commitment to delivering quality legal advice and services to clients.

    You will have strong research skills and a keen eye for detail with the ability to identify key issues and think critically to find strategically focused and evidence-based solutions.

    Working within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, you will have high-level time management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage competing tasks to meet deadlines.

    You confidently engage with key stakeholders and team members to build and maintain collaborative relationships and can utilise your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate complex ideas and persuasive legal advice and support to a range of audiences in a range of styles.

    Admitted or qualified for admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in the Supreme Court of NSW and hold, or be eligible to hold, a NSW Practising Certificate.

    Legal Officer DCCEEW conserves and protects the state's natural environment.

    It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

    DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
