- Interfacing with on-site personnel to promote environmental goals and solve environmental issues.
- Providing technical environmental advice and guidance to the operational teams to improve environmental performance.
- Preparing and submitting compliance reports and data required to comply with our license to operate.
- Managing environmental issues, including surface water quality, stormwater management, monitoring, waste management, groundwater quality, emissions to air, incident reporting, and hydrocarbon/contamination management.
- Delivering and participating in audits (internal & external).
- Implementing and verifying the business' environmental management system.
- Providing environmental advice in the interpretation of legislation, acts, and regulations.
- A commitment to safety is essential.
- Excellent communication and partnering skills with the ability to work independently.
- A Bachelor's degree in an Environmental, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience with Management Systems ISO 14001 and the Tasmanian Environment regulatory framework is desired.
- Relevant industry experience, such as large-scale smelting, processing, or chemical manufacturing, or mining experience.
- Demonstrated experience in executing work in air, water, and waste management aspects.
- A willingness to get hands-on with problem-solving and improvement.
- A strong attitude towards safety and improvement.
- Resilience and a dynamic approach to problem-solving.
