    Primary Function:

  • This position leads inventory planning, procurement, inbound logistics, outbound supply and fulfillment activities for Abbott Rapid Diagnostics ANZPI.
  • The role reports into the General Manager and will also manage a team.
  • Responsibilities

    Oversee the inventory management (planning and procurement) function

  • Ensure there are systems and resources to manage & maintain Inventory levels to achieve OTIF targets and minimise expired / obsolete inventory.
  • Directly manage the planning and inventory team members.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the inventory, physical and in QAD.
  • Responsible for inventory verifications, the conduct of cycle counts, physical verifications and full inventory counts.
  • Responsible for disposition and reconciliation of inventory held at 3PL locations/WMS vs QAD. Follow up discrepancies, damaged stock, and stock disposal.
  • Prioritise resolution of supply issues and delays.
  • Support commercial in analysis and optimisation of stock levels through changes, product launches, recalls and swap outs.
  • Attend regional S&OP meetings with global planning stakeholders.
  • Provide resources and systems for indirect procurement.
  • Oversee the Order fulfilment function

  • Ensure there are systems and resources to manage & maintain customer service levels to achieve set OTIF targets.
  • Directly manage the Customer Service Team.
  • Review and maintain in-date agreements and rate cards with 3PL and transport providers, waste services.
  • Ensure there are minimum quarterly cross functi0nal review meetings with the 3PLs with minutes and actions taken.
  • Arrange item set up and WMS data when requested.
  • Provide advice on optimal distribution and freight options to meet quality, time, and cost requirements.
  • Arrange quotes and delivery timeframes for specific orders as required.
  • Ensure all outbound orders have proof of delivery.
  • Bulk waste and destruction – book, monitor, proof of destruction.
  • General Supply Chain

  • Establish goals, KPIs and Quality Objectives that are aligned with ARDx business strategy for all activities and functions within Supply Chain.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to supply, shipping, handling, 3PL performance. Determine the root cause of issues and take actions to ensure service levels are maintained.
  • Execute quality related inventory actions as required including product ship-hold and recalls.
  • Write, update, and enforce policies, procedures and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with global customs and trade requirements.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with internal teams including division planners, division supply chain leads, commercial, customer service, quality, and regulatory affairs.
  • Manage relationship with 3rd party suppliers, inbound freight providers, transport providers and customs brokers. Conduct price negotiations, contract management and reviews. Ensure costs are in line with budget levels.
  • Investigate and resolve non product (service) complaints.
  • Seek out deficiencies in the overall supply chain processes and implement changes to overcome them.
  • Responsible for business continuity in goods storage, transport including backup systems and resources.

  • Ensure all activities carried out by self and the team are in accordance with employment policies and safety requirements.
  • Implement and maintain procedures and methods for areas of functional responsibility in alignment with the local QMS and division / corporate policies.

  • Establish and maintain the Distribution (550) budget.
  • Proactively seek cost saving solutions and initiatives.
  • Seek approval for expenses in line with department specific authorisation levels.

  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain Management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in end to end supply chain management
  • Proficiency in global supply chains, purchasing, freight forwarding, trade compliance, warehousing and distribution of healthcare or perishable goods (cold chain) preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, and the ability to lead individuals and teams to achieve planed/desirable organizational outcomes.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work according to business needs and change focus when required.
  • High attention to detail, high degree of independence and self-motivation
  • Ability to manage performance issues, tap on data to direct decision making to drive operational efficiencies
