    • Fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Research Assistants as a casual part-time basis
    • This role is commencing ASAP until June 2026
    • HEO 4 Step 1 $52.80 per hour

    About the opportunity

    The Research Assistants will provide technical and operational support to the Chief Investigator and the team to support the research activity and/or clinical trial requirements for the work area. This includes preparing relevant materials in collaboration with team members, performing fundamental aspects of research work, and facilitating the efficient operation of the research by providing essential technical and operational support. The incumbent will be expected to coordinate the activities associated with research projects, and work towards ensuring smooth operation.

    Your key responsibilities will be to:

    • support the design of research work being undertaken in the work area
    • conduct data analysis, prepares reporting and presentations and carries out literature searches for the work area
    • undertake research and analysis on specific defined issues and areas of focus, under the direct/broad guidance of the Chief Investigator and senior research staff or by applying broad technical knowledge of research protocols relevant to the work area
    • maintain academic and research records for the project(s), including project registers, EndNote libraries and publication registers
    • source information, research and prepare drafts for research publications and presentations including preparing literary reviews and carrying out theoretical research to support the overall research objectives
    • ensure that ethics guidelines, standards and WHS requirements are met in the work area.

    About you

    • Experience in carrying out literary searches and preparing literary reviews for further analysis.
    • Extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions and grant applications.
    • Experience in a research-intensive environment or interest in teaching and working in academia.
    • Working understanding of relevant aspects of the Work Health and Safety Policy and relevant legislation
    • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work.
