    This role is part of Building and Plumbing Services in our Development Services team, committed to shaping a better Moreton Bay by assessing and managing the effects of development on the community and environment.

    About the Opportunity

    The Business Support Officer will primarily work with the Building Certification and Compliance Team, supporting the service this team provides in achieving compliance with Council-owned buildings and buildings on Council-owned land.

    You will provide administrative and business support to the Development Services teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery of departmental operations within the Building and Plumbing Team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, and other business documents.
    • Assist in the review and update of resources, including template letters, forms, and customer service reference information.
    • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist with customer enquiries and Technology One processes including tracking and resolution.
    • Work collaboratively with Senior Business Support Officers and other business support staff across the division.

    About You

    We are seeking a highly adaptable Business Support Officer who thrives in a fast-paced working environment, with analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to analyse, interpret and report on data.

    You will bring your excellent administrative and time management skills to this role and have strong communication and well-developed people and relationships skills.

    • Experience providing administrative support and assistance, including the preparation of quality correspondence and documentation.
    • SOUND knowledge of administration practices and procedures.
    • Well-developed organisational skills and work ethic with the ability to work autonomously.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and the ability to develop proficiency with council's corporate systems.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders through all levels of the organisation.
