    About the role:

    With the primary focus being on margin optimization and capital governance, the Commercial Finance Business Partner you will be given the opportunity to challenge the status quo and to seek opportunities that will drive positive business outcomes.

    Partnering with the Commercial team on gross margin expansion and optimization, acting as the commercial advisor working closely with key functional stakeholders and their executive leadership to deliver sustainable margin growth. Driving key business improvement and growth opportunities, in line with the overall business strategy.

    As the custodian of Capital governance, management, and allocation for the Nando's ANZ with Capital planning, budgeting, and funding to ensure transparency around capital availability, prioritization of capital allocation to ensure the delivery of attractive return on capital for shareholders.

    • Provide critical insights to support gross margin expansion, reviewing all aspects of the value chain from procurement and supply chain, through to operational efficiency and pricing strategies.
    • Develop robust financial modelling to support the procurement and supply chain functions in the delivery of commercial value.
    • Build commercial awareness and knowledge across the Commercial, Operations and Marketing teams and provide thought leadership on matters impacting financial performance.
    • Partner with executive leadership (COO, CCO & CFO), driving an understanding of key financial levers and how to optimise business opportunities, supported by insightful analysis which is translated into action for improved operational performance.
    • Translate complex business challenges using advanced data analysis reasoning (data mining, analysis, modelling, and visualisation), into simple and easy to understand solutions.
    • Draft and present business insights, analysis, and solutions to multiple levels of stakeholders within the company.
    • Present on capital positions, exposure, and opportunities, ensuring an awareness and understanding of capital levels and performance.
    • Develop comprehensive return on capital models to influence capital investment strategy, providing insights and recommendations into areas of improvement.
    What you will bring:
    • Relevant tertiary qualification (Accounting/Finance/Economics).
    • Advanced Microsoft (excel and PowerPoint) and financial modelling skills.
    • Strong commercial mindset, with proven ability to challenge and influence commercial outcomes.
    • Self-driven to succeed, with curiosity and a high attention to detail.
    • An engaging, adaptable, and proactive approach.
    • Experience in retail operations, hospitality, supply chain environment preferred but not mandatory.
    • Experience with BI tools (Tableau preferred).
    • An all-round good human being who just wants to be part of something special and make a real difference.

    This is a full-time permanent role, based in our funky office in Abbotsford with flexible work arrangements and great coffee nearby. Interstate travel is required twice yearly.
