The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) will soon advertise for our 2025 Graduate Program.
We anticipate that applications for this program will open in April 2024. To express an early interest in the program , please register your interest by clicking the 'Apply' button. You will then be contacted by email with further information as soon as applications open.

Employees of DPS contribute to the provision of effective, high quality and sustainable services to parliamentarians, building occupants and visitors to Parliament House. Our graduates gain a unique hands-on experience of the diverse work and services delivered by the department including:
The program will run over a 12-month period and focus on building graduate skills, capabilities and knowledge within the department. Our graduates commence at the Parliamentary Service Level 3 (PSL3) classification and upon successful completion of the program, advance to the base of the Parliamentary Service Level 4 (PSL4).

Currently, the Department's salary range for the PSL3/4 level is $70,110 - $73,265 per annum

Conditions of Employment
Conditions of employment and rates of pay for non-SES DPS staff are specified in the Department of Parliamentary Services Enterprise Agreement 2011.
Australian Citizenship
Section 22 of the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 requires that employees of the Parliamentary Service must be Australian citizens. If you are not an Australian citizen, you may still be considered for engagement on the condition that you are able to gain Australian Citizenship within a specified time. Failure to obtain citizenship within the timeframe could lead to termination of engagement.
Redundancy Benefit Recipient
If you have accepted a redundancy benefit, within the previous twelve months, from a Commonwealth employer (including the Parliamentary Service and the Australian Public Service), you cannot be employed by DPS until your exclusion period (the number of weeks for which you received a redundancy benefit) has expired.
