    The Position

    Based in Newcastle NSW, the General Services Manager oversees and manages non-medical services. The scope of this role primary focuses on leading the Medirest team (Management, Administration, Food Services, Cleaning, Waste, Security, Materials Distribution, Help Desk and Retail operations) and creating a performance culture that leads to mutual success for Compass Group and the client, enabling the achievement of business objectives.

    • Effectively oversee all contracted services within the facility ensuring they're performing to the highest standard including quality, cost, safety and service delivery
    • Develop and maintain a strong client and contractual relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Develop the operational quality and safety leadership capabilities across the Management team in order to provide exceptional service to our client and drive growth through our client partnership.
    • Foster a culture of care and respect in the workplace and lead people related initiatives to drive team engagement
    • Maintain exceptional financial stewardship and budget control, achieve profit targets and identify business growth opportunities through contract expansion
    • Ensure all compliance and company policies are adhered to, and oversee and promote good contract governance

    The Person

    • Previous management experience within healthcare
    • Facilities management experience leading and inspiring operational teams to deliver results
    • Proven experience in the development of high performing teams
    • Strong commercial acumen with proven ability in financial management
    • Strong contract management experience including the management of sub-contract services
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
    • Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills
    • Qualifications in Management are advantageous

    As an occupational requirement of this role the successful applicant will be required to meet site entry requirements including but not limited to a current National Police Clearance & relevant Immunisation Schedule.
