    Description

    We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our Melbourne practice with full-time or part-time hours available.

    Reporting to the Treasury Manager, you will be responsible for treasury functions for all appointments.

    Your new role

    As a Bookkeeper, your responsibilities include:

    • Maintaining electronic cashbooks through MYOB Insolvency for companies and individuals, including bank reconciliations.
    • Drafting EFT payments, including payroll.
    • Handling superannuation and STP reporting.
    • Preparing BAS and PAYG returns for a large number of insolvent entities.
    • Liaising with major banks regarding banking facilities, such as opening and closing bank accounts, and resolving online platform issues.
    • Maintaining ATO Business Services online for a large number of insolvent entities, and dealing with ATO regarding refunds and tax payable.
    • Contributing to funds handling policies, cash book practice statements/procedures.
    • Preparing Statutory Reports for a large number of insolvent entities and estates for lodgement with AFSA and ASIC.
    • Banking services.

    This role may be suitable for you if you possess:

    • Various years' experience in advisory, restructuring, and insolvency.
    • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
    • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
    • Flexibility and adaptability.
    • The ability to build relationships and networks.
    • A commitment to quality and standards.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • A motivated and proactive work ethic.
    • Self-confidence and autonomy.

    Desirable experience includes:

    • BAS preparation experience.
    • Experience working with accounting software.
    • MYOB Insolvency experience.
