    Description
    The Director Communications is a critical agency-wide leadership position responsible for leading the Communications Team and managing the Agency's communications portfolio. The role involves developing ARPANSA's brand, media engagement, and communications strategies to promote best practice communication and stakeholder engagement.
    Key responsibilities include:
    • Planning, managing, and leading the Communications team to identify reputational risk and develop communication strategies to effectively manage risks across the division and business areas
    • Providing expert media, issues, and reputation management advice to senior management and staff on strategic and operational issues
    • Developing and implementing communication strategies and activities for internal clients
    • Overseeing the development of policies and procedures concerning ARPANSA staff interactions with the media and delivery of ARPANSA's brand
    • Managing issues and risks in the social media environment
    • Delivering media training and supporting Agency spokespeople
    To be considered for this position, you will have experience in similar roles, demonstrated skills in media management, communication strategy development, and strategic stakeholder engagement. You must hold Australian citizenship or possess permanent residency status leading to citizenship and be prepared to travel interstate as required. ARPANSA requires all new employees to undertake a minimum baseline security clearance as a condition of engagement.
