    YOUR OPPORTUNITYOur Operational Reliability team have an exciting opportunity for a passionateWater Quality Officerto join our team based in Fortitude Valley.

    The Operational Reliabilityteamis accountableforthe operational reliability of 9500km water network and 9700km wastewater network to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers, protect public health, deliver an exceptional customer experience, minimise cost in the long run and comply with our regulatory obligations and safe drinking water requirements.

    Reporting to the Operational Reliability Leader, you would be accountable for taking an agile and optimised approach which contributes to formulating and implementing operational standards, strategies, and protocols to achieve enhance drinking water quality outcomes.

    The role also provides appropriate technical solutions to complex operational and emergent issues associated with water quality.

    Success in this role will be measured by how operational standards, strategies and protocols are implemented and how well systemic water quality issues are resolved to enable the achievement of drinking water quality health indicators while ensure compliance with our regulatory obligations.

    The role may be required to be on an on-call subject matter expert duty roster.

    You'll find more details in the position description hereService Delivery - Water Quality Officer - E pdfABOUT YOUA relevant degree qualification in a science, engineering or chemistry discipline or equivalentDemonstrated knowledge of Queensland state legislation and national guidelines relevant to drinking water quality assessment and complianceDemonstrated experience in recognising, investigating and problem-solving issues of a scientific or engineering nature, preferably in the public health or the water industry, with experience in developing reports and recommendationsFamiliarisation of water network operations and maintenance activitiesExperience with the standard suite of Microsoft productsAn efficient multi-tasker with a real passion for water qualityStakeholder management skills with well-developed interpersonal and written communication skillsAt UU, we celebrate diversity.
