    Based in Sydney - Macquarie Park, the Financial Operations team is part of the Optus Corporate Finance team and are accountable for core financial accounting processes for the Optus Group.

    This includes ensuring our end to end accounting processes support an efficient and accurate month-end close, comply with Accounting and International Standards, support business decision making and delivery of business targets as well as regulatory and management reporting requirements and analysis The team also works closely with the business to enable implementation of strategic initiatives and business activities such as new product launches.

    Your role ...

    As a Finance Manager – Finance Operations, you oversee a team to ensure there is effective governance and control of the Profit & Loss and related Balance Sheet for your respective portfolio. You will also be partnering with the finance business partners and key business stakeholders to ensure effective accounting processes are in place to support the efficient and effective implementation of business initiatives (e.g., product launches) and other changes.

    This is an exciting time to join our team as we are currently in the process of upgrading our SAP system to S/4 HANA and using that program as an enabler to improve our finance processes.

    What makes you perfect for the role?

  • Tertiary qualified in an Accounting / Finance discipline with CPA/CA studies advantageous.
  • Significant work experience in a dynamic, high volume financial accounting role.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with solid analytical ability and investigative skills.
  • Proven experience in process improvement initiatives
  • Advanced relationship management skills at all levels internally and externally to the business.
  • Advanced MS Office, in particular MS Excel, with current SAP skills & experience.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex issues in a concise and logical format.
  • Experience leading people and managing change management initiatives; &
  • Excellent prioritisation skills and proven ability to work under pressure.
