The methods of assessing suitability in the recruitment process may vary, including making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.

    Your Role

The Project Officer role will be responsible for the oversight and triage of regional data sets to inform targeted student support. Additionally, this role will support the Regional Youth Engagement Service and the operational support of the Student Child and Family Connect team. Ideally, you will have experience working with students and their families who have disengaged from education or are at-risk of disengaging from education or the ability to acquire knowledge of how to support disengaged students. Responsibilities include:

    • Manage projects, conduct research, and analysis to contribute to the relevant outcomes.
    • Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives, policies, and plans to improve retention and re-engagement of vulnerable children and young people with education, training, and employment.
    • Conduct research, analysis, and synthesis of complex information to inform innovations and considerations regarding the future of youth programs.
    • Provide executive support services to ensure the effective flow and delivery of priorities and objectives of the unit.
    • Prepare papers, reports, and briefings on complex issues, synthesising research and other information and developing options and solutions for implementation, including Cabinet submissions, in an environment of tight deadlines, competing priorities, and high-level demands.
    • Manage the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of complex activities and projects, including data analysis, performance reviews, and risk management.
    • Identify and implement quality improvements in business processes, services, and systems.

Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.

    Interested? To Apply:

    • Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history).
    • Attach a 2-page response to the How you will be assessed section of the attached role description.

We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.

Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

When working in regulated employment, an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.

Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).

We are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.
