    Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Field Supervisor is an active and integral member of the Diamond leadership team that oversees the completion of all Diamond Drilling programs. This is an opportunity for individuals who are motivated to progress their careers, leading and supporting a team of Field Technicians whilst managing fieldwork operations across multiple Operational and Exploration sites in the Pilbara.

    Our Opportunity

    Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Field Supervisor is an active and integral member of the Diamond leadership team that oversees the completion of all Diamond Drilling programs. This is an opportunity for individuals who are motivated to progress their careers, leading and supporting a team of Field Technicians whilst managing fieldwork operations across multiple Operational and Exploration sites in the Pilbara.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Safe and effective leadership of a team of Field Technicians including the coaching, mentoring and development of all
    • Provide visible positive leadership by demonstrating safe behaviours at all times and displaying the Fortescue values, whilst managing the effective optimisation of sampling practices
    • Manage expectation setting and performance reviews of team members to ensure a successful pathway is built for all
    • Ensure all drilling programs are adequately resourced and supported to ensure no disruption to completion
    • Liaising with site teams to ensure earthworks are completed on time and budget
    • Procurement and delivery of supplies for operational support
    • Focus on continuous improvement strategies and implementation to ensure production improvements are delivered
    Qualifications and Experience
    • Proven experience in a leadership role with a passion for coaching and people development
    • Significant experience within an open pit mining environment alongside the ability to work in a physically demanding role
    • Strong leadership experience with the ability to engage and empower large teams alongside a proven commitment to safety
    • High level of organisational & interpersonal skills to coordinate multiple sites, logistics, and stakeholder requirements
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
    • 4x4 ticket and experience alongside a C Class manual Driver's License, HR License highly desirable
    • Experience in use of SAP preferred
    • Exposure to Acquire Database preferred
    • Strong understanding of efficiency drivers in a large-scale mining operation
