    Phillip Riley is proud to be partnering with this Australian owned Renewable Energy Company to identify a Lawyer - Project Construction and Disputes, for a newly created role in their Sydney office.

    Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel you will be responsible for providing specialist support on project construction claims and disputes and project construction contracts in the renewable energy sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Legal advisor for an Australian Renewable Energy Company, advising on construction law, particularly construction law disputes and commercial matters on renewable energy projects.
    • Provide comprehensive legal support throughout project construction, including managing claims and disputes, negotiating and drafting of construction contracts, ensuring alignment with corporate policies.
    • Stay abreast of construction law regulatory changes and legal developments, whilst assisting in identifying and mitigating key legal risks within projects and construction contracts.
    • Review legislation and regulations pertinent to our development, construction, and operational activities of the group.
    • Liaise with external legal counsel on outsourced legal matters.

    Experience

    • 5 - 10 years post admission experience as a lawyer.
    • Valid practising certificate.
    • Experience in construction law, disputes and litigation.
    • Sound knowledge and ability to work in a manner consistent with good ethics, our values and good corporate governance.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Tertiary qualification as a Lawyer
    • Post-graduate qualification highly regarded
    • Project management and time management skills.
    • Problem solving and negotiation skills.
    • Adaptable to a fast-paced company with a strong growth agenda.
