    The Factory Hygienist is responsible to maintain pre-requisite components of the Food Safety Management System by establishing, maintaining, and coaching the building blocks of hygiene and food safety concepts.

    A day in the life...

    Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, key responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:

    • Promote quality awareness and contribute to competence development of quality professionals across the factory.
    • Support in the management of the microbiology and pathogen laboratories by providing training and competence build as required.
    • Define, implement and verify the effectiveness of the Pre-requisite Programs (PRP's) related to Hygiene.
    • Define and update the specific quality procedures, instructions and tools required to operate the microbiology and pathogen laboratories.
    • Support production and engineering in ensuring GMP standards are adhered to.
    • Own the site's GMP improvement list and prioritise the areas in which the GMP budget will be spent.
    • Support the NPD process through the risk assessment of new raw materials and processes.
    • Support Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) program in the quest for zero defect.
    • Actively participate in the site TPM activities, delivering to the requirements outlined in the methodology.
    • Support activities to achieve compliance with the Nestlé Quality Management System requirements and other applicable instructions and standards.
    • Own and deliver training related to housekeeping and hygiene, as required.
    • Support unit readiness for internal and external audits.
    • Performs trouble shooting and corrective action follow-up of non-conformities.

    What will make you successful

    • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be self-motivated, proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
    • Diploma or degree qualified in Food Science, or related field of study.
    • Minimum 3+ years' experience working within Quality, Production Support and/or Application Group.
    • Experience in successfully implementing hygiene and quality assurance programs.
    • Participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects with more senior staff members.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
    • Passionate about working for Nestlé and sharing its purpose.
