- Develop and enhance the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) to align with company strategies.
- Ensure defined health and safety responsibilities and competencies for all employees.
- Monitor and enforce safety policies, conduct regular safety inspections, and assess risk.
- Facilitate WHS training programs and maintain records of training activities.
- Collaborate with operational management for continuous improvement in WHS systems.
- Provide claims and case management services to ensure legislative compliance.
- Liaise with medical professionals, insurers, and Workcover Authorities.
- Train management on legal and practical aspects of injury management.
- Coordinate rehabilitation providers and assess the effectiveness of personal protective equipment.
- Conduct internal training programs and establish safety training for all employees.
- Administer and monitor training records, liaise with training organizations.
- Collect data on external training and ensure compliance with WHS-related training requirements.
- Monitor and review work practices to identify areas for improvement.
- Promote a philosophy of continuous improvement in alignment with industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements.
- Report directly to the Group General Manager and collaborate with all levels of management.
- Coordinate consultants/contractors and liaise with various departments.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining training records with the HR Manager.
- Coordinate the appointment and training of Safety Representatives and Safety Committee/s.
- Maintain a representative presence with industry associations and regulatory bodies.
- Oversight of Company premises and project/construction sites.
- Development/enhancement of policies including WHS, Rehabilitation, Return to Work, Harassment, Privacy, and Environment.
- Adherence to legislative compliance for machinery and plant.
- Contribution to the development of templates and WHS documentation for tender submissions.
- Travel to Company and project sites with occasional out-of-hours work.
- Certificate IV qualifications in WHS.
- Familiarity with WHS standards (AS4801), Regulations, and Acts.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
