    Salary: $105,367 to $117,497 p.a, plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight.

    Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience.

    Located within our collaborative property team, in this role you will provide professional, strategic and operational advice regarding the commercial opportunities and use of Council's property portfolio, the delivery of significant projects, as well as the management of Council's rental portfolio.

    Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the 'Bushland Shire', our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.

    About the role

    Reporting to the Property Asset Manager, this position provides strategic advice to Council, adding value by optimising the returns and ensuring sustainable management of Council's property portfolio. The position must manage the delivery of significant property projects and transactions and manage the activities of consultants engaged in property projects including:

    Negotiations for land and easement sales, acquisitions, leases, licences including community land.
    * Initiate and process applications for road closure, covenants and outdoor dining.
    * Undertake and coordinate project management in relation to property matters.

    About you

    You have a high level of professional ethics and personal standards as the role requires significant consultation and negotiation with Council officers of other divisions, professionals, tenants, community groups and the general public.

    You have commercial awareness and the ability to make good decisions, with the ability to balance competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
