    The role

    To support HDR's continued commitment to design excellence and innovation, our architecture practice is looking for a passionate Marketing and Submissions Specialist to join our Melbourne Studio. Utilising your experience in writing tenders and submissions within the AEC industry, you will support our teams to manage the expression of interest and tender submission process to support the growth of our architectural practice.

    Reporting to the Senior Pursuits Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment where innovation is encouraged, and delivery excellence is celebrated. You will support the execution of marketing and business development pursuits, including managing the pursuit (bid) process, coordinating production, contributing to content and taking responsibility for the delivery of the submissions.

    This is a critical role to support the project outcomes of our studio, and we'll count on you to:

  • Read new tender documentation and fully understand the requirements for the submissions process, including coordinating internal strategy meetings, follow up meetings, staff and sub-consultant input to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to proposal strategy, develop the work plan and manage the pursuit team and schedule.
  • Manage the entire submission process, coordinating and editing input from a number of stakeholders and ensuring all contributors meet the required timeframes.
  • Be involved in market sector and client strategy research.
  • Work with marketing leadership, market sector leadership, office principals and other leaders.
  • Manage the appearance of the final document in InDesign, source photography, CVs, references and other material as appropriate.
  • Populate response schedules, spreadsheets and project outlines with key data.
  • Write sections of the submission developed from bullet points and other information provided.
  • Instigate and manage the go/not go process.
  • Update CRM database with leads and pursuits as received.
  • Ensure marketing and pursuit material is up to date, including project sheets and CV's.

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (eg. Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Professional Service degree, such as Architecture, Landscape Architecture or other related technical field) is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working in a bids or pursuits capacity, preferably within the AEC industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in the Victorian market.
  • Experience working within architecture - advantageous.
  • Mastery of Adobe InDesign CC and MS Office products.
  • This role is suited to a highly organised professional who has a keen eye for detail and a willingness working to tight deadlines. Your ability to manage multiple priorities whilst coordinating high quality bid and tender documentation will be critical to your success.
