Kestrel is one of the world's largest producing underground coking coal mines, producing approximately 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually.

The mine exports coal to key markets in Asia and Europe for steel production. Located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD.

Our team covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management, and sustainable rehabilitation. We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with potential for further increases.

About the Opportunity

We've upgraded our Longwall and Development equipment, as well as most Outbye assets, incorporating the latest advancements in technology and performance.

This upgrade builds on previous strengths and enhances our capabilities. With top-tier equipment in place, we're seeking skilled Underground Electricians to join our high-performing team.

We're looking for experienced Underground Electricians for positions across: Development Outbye Longwall Infrastructure Projects.

Your Role

You'll support Kestrel by:

• Maintaining and repairing face production, outbye, and project installation works using your electrical expertise.
• Collaborating with professionals to achieve production and project goals.
• Prioritizing safety by setting benchmarks, identifying risks, and contributing to site-wide safety standards.

About You

To be successful, you should have:

• Prior experience (ideally 12+ months) in an underground coal environment as an Electrician.
• QLD Electrical Licence.
• LVR/CPR.
• EEHA Certificate.
• HV Certificate.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Current Standard 11 (surface and underground) or willingness to obtain.
• A commitment to safety and creating a safe working environment.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
• A demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive and safety-focused workplace culture.
