AWX Mount Isa are currently seeking experienced Underground Charger Operators to join our dynamic team at a local mine site.

As an Underground Charger Operator, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of charging equipment in underground mining environments.

In this role you will be working a 7 on 7 off roster, consisting of rotating days and nights and 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Operate underground charging equipment, including but not limited to chargers, explosives transport vehicles, and other related machinery.

• Ensure the safe loading and transportation of explosives to designated areas in the underground mine.

• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on charging equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify any potential issues.

• Collaborate with the blasting team and other personnel to coordinate charging activities in accordance with production schedules.

• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, actively participating in safety meetings and reporting any safety concerns.

• Maintain accurate records of charging activities, including quantities and types of explosives used.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient workflow and address any operational challenges.

To be considered, you must have the following:

• Valid Underground Charger Operator certification or equivalent.

• Ability to pass a police check

• Must hold a valid Australian manual drivers licence (with no restrictions)

• Ability to obtain a low risk medical and D&A.

• Willingness to complete all mine site training / inductions required to work on the mine site.

• Thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to underground mining operations, particularly in the handling and transportation of explosives.

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in a mining environment.
