    Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time position in the role of an experienced Electrician to join their team in the Alice Springs Office.

    The electrician position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor with day-to-day activities overseen by the Senior Maintenance Officer. You will perform the electrical maintenance and repair of domestic switchboards and equipment on residential properties in Alice Springs. You will also be required to be the nominee on the companies Electrical Contractors Licence to ensure all electrical work is carried out in accordance with current NT legislation and the Australian Standards. Occasional overtime and callouts will be required.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities/Duties Estimated % of Time Essential Function

    Maintenance tasks; either programmed (planned) maintenance or repairs as

    required

    Perform fault finding as required

    Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts as necessary

    Connecting electrical systems to power supply

    Testing continuity of circuits

    Tasks for project type work as required

    Liaise with others to notify and organize tasks to be undertaken as required

    Ensure equipment is maintained to operate in a safe manner in accordance with

    ASNZ:3000

    Report any incidents to management as a priority

    Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks

    Work as part of a team

    Assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance area from time to time as

    required

    Work to ensure that safety is an integral part of everyday activities

    Other duties as directed by the Vesta management team

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Essential Desirable

    Trade Qualification – Cert III in Electrotechnology

    Electrician

    CPR/Low voltage rescue.

    Demonstrated 3-5 years' experience in

    construction and domestic maintenance work

    First Aid Certificate.

    Ability to be the Nominee for the company

    Electrical Contractors Licence. This requires either

    completion of a NT Contractors examination (or

    willing to do so) or have been a nominee on an NT

    Contractors Licence in the past 3 years. Training in appropriate safety procedures (i.e., Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Working in Trenches etc.).

    Ability to work within a team environment

    NT Work safe High Risk Work – Boom type Elevated Work Platform licence

    Ability to work professionally with minimal

    supervision.

    Good interpersonal skills with a customer service

    focus

    Good communication skills – verbal and written

    Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and

    successfully complete assigned tasks

    Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse issues

    and develop solutions to problems

    TICKETS AND LICENCES

    Minimum Essential Desirable

    Current Driver's Licence

    N/A

    A Grade Electrical Mechanic Licence.

    EXPERIENCE – Minimum Essential

    At least 3-5 years' experience as a trade qualified electrician.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

    Alice Springs climate ranges from cold winters to hot summers. Electrician activities include outdoor works in varying conditions. Activities include working in roof cavities and on roofs in these conditions.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

    It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a NV-1/SECRET Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian) or SSBI (U.S.) clearance.

    STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

    All personnel assigned to work at JDFPG shall be:

    · At least 18 years of age.

    · Able to fluently read, write and speak English

    EHS REQUIREMENT
