    Description

    The position

    The appointee will be a world expert in molecular plant phenotyping, including knowledge of computer vision-based phenotyping of crops in controlled environments. Having knowledge of plant physiology and development would be advantageous. They will be expected to provide guidance in the disciplinary field and foster excellence in research, research policy and research training within the institution, discipline and/or profession and within the scholarly and general community.

    This Professorial position is research-only, reflecting the commitment of La Trobe University further build on its achievements in conducting high impact research in the department of Animal, Plant & Soil Sciences (). A strong start-up package will be available for the appointee to accelerate their research program, including a 7 year funded position in the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plants for Space ().

    Skills and Experience

    To be successful in this role you will be a distinguished leader and researcher, with a strong ability to collaborate internationally. You will have a strong international reputation in research, particularly in plant biology. You are an excellent communicator in all formats, particularly in your ability to establish relationships with staff and industry partners. In addition, you will value the importance of mentoring roles through demonstrable commitment and dedication to the progress of the careers of junior researchers.
