    Description

    About the Role:

    The Older People's Mental Health Service (OPMHS) provides integrated clinical services to the older people's population of the St Vincent's Mental Health Service catchment area. The OPMHS model of care includes inpatient, consultation-liaison, hospital outpatients, community clinics and outreach to older people at home and residential aged care facilities.

    This position will act as a senior clinician within a multidisciplinary team providing psychiatric assessment and treatment in various settings. It will also provide clinical leadership in promoting high standards of patient care and service improvement, innovation and evaluation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment in inpatient, outpatient and community settings
    • Lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality patient care
    • Promote a culture of innovation and quality improvement
    • Contribute to the development and dissemination of new knowledge and practices

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrated specialist registration with AHPRA and Medicare provider number
    • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
    • Knowledge of Psychiatry of Old Age, including electroconvulsive therapy
    • Experience in teaching and supervision of junior medical officers and students
    • Leadership skills to foster innovation and improve patient care outcomes
