    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive HR strategies, policies, and procedures tailored to the unique needs of the organisation and indigenous communities.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management on all HR-related matters, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities they serve.
  • Mentor and train managers to effectively support and retain indigenous employees, fostering a culture of respect, understanding, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify organisational gaps and opportunities for improvement, implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency and employee engagement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, offering insights and recommendations to minimise risk and promote compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and community leaders to support the mission and enhance the reputation as an employer of choice. The Successful Applicant

    Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HR, with a focus on policy development, talent management, and indigenous affairs.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing HR initiatives in complex and diverse environments, preferably within Aboriginal organisations or remote communities.
  • Strong understanding of indigenous cultures, values, and socio-economic challenges, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive change at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to balance long-term goals with day-to-day operational needs. What's on Offer
