    About our client

    We are working with a prominent Australian brand seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Employee Relations Consultant to join a team of subject matter experts.

    This organisation has a large and complex workforce 1000+ and has a strong union presence.
    Position Duties & Relationships

    Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, you will be an integral part of a small yet dedicated team, operating with a degree of autonomy.

    In this role, you will provide high-level advice and support to a diverse range of clients across the organisation on various employee relations and generalist HR matters.

    You will also collaborate with external stakeholders, including unions, other universities, professional bodies, and external service providers.
    Role Statement
    Under broad direction, the Senior Employee Relations Consultant will undertake the following responsibilities:
    Contribute to the delivery of flexible, robust, and best practice Employee Relations projects, ensuring alignment with this organisations objectives.

    Provide responsive and expert HR advice to supervisors and staff on complex employment issues, with a focus on performance management, serious misconduct, grievances, dispute resolution, and industrial relations.

    Advise, coach, and support supervisors, managers, and HR practitioners in implementing good HR and management practices.
    Conduct in-depth research and prepare authoritative and timely written advice on complex HR issues.
    Contribute to the continuous improvement of Employee Relations by reviewing systems and processes to enhance people management outcomes.
    Lead projects and policy groups to drive improved HR practices and outcomes for the organisation.
    Conduct comprehensive research and provide high-quality reports and discussion papers on emerging HR issues and practices.

    The successful candidate will possess:
    Progress towards relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience within a large and complex organisation.

    Demonstrated experience in providing strategic advice on complex matters such as performance management and grievances, including conducting investigations and making recommendations.

    Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to lead projects and work constructively as a team member.
    High level of interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate, consult, and negotiate effectively.
