    About the role

    The Residential Estimator will discuss details with suppliers, contractors, architects, builders, engineers and project owners to prepare and deliver estimates for the completion of a residential construction project. This includes: Evaluate engineering drawings and architectural specifications. Office is based in Townsville, QLD.

    Key criteria requirements

    • Experienced Estimator / Purchasing Officer
    • Good knowledge of residential construction industry and materials
    • Experience with Databuild and Microsoft Excel will be advantageous
    • Attention to detail and accuracy are must haves
    • Ability to understand and interpret construction plans
    • Good communication skills to deal with trades and suppliers
    • Must be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads to effectively meet deadlines
    • Strong mathematics skills
    • High level of computer literacy
    • Possess a current C class driver's license.

    Key Responsibilities for the role - but not limited to:

    • Producing material takes offs
    • Producing BOQs and ordering materials
    • Management of price files
    • Requesting and comparing quotes from suppliers
    • Maintaining and organising delivery schedules for products for houses being built
    • Consult with Construction Supervisors, Trades and Suppliers to formulate estimates and resolve issues
    • To provide honest, reliable and friendly service with value for money that exceeds our customers expectations, now and in the future
    • Comply with relevant Queensland and National legislations
    • Adopt work practices that support WHS&E programs
    • Full understanding of the Building Contract
    • Effective management of after contract variations & Final Account calculations
    • Receive all contract documentation & check for completion & accuracy
    • Prepare & manage contract adjustment & after contract variations
    • Forward contract documentation to appropriate suppliers for quoting where necessary
    • Maintain accurate files & protect contract information
