    Description

    The role:

    • Provide clinical leadership and direction to improve the quality and continuity of care and support provided to clients in the outpatient oncology and haematology practice setting including advanced nursing care within scope of practice.
    • In collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager - WP Holman Clinic (NUM) undertake nursing assessments, contributes to planning and coordinates the delivery of services to patients presenting to the WP Holman Clinic (Holman Clinic).
    • Develop effective relationships with other service providers across the hospital and within the community to improve services and service access.
    • Actively incorporate teaching, practice-based research and quality activities within the role to improve standards of care.
    • Provide authoritative clinical expert advice and supports and coordinates the patient's care and is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team throughout the patient's treatment.

    The area:

    • The W.P. Holman Clinic, Launceston, provides comprehensive specialist inpatient and outpatient Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology Services to the Northern Tasmanian community. This includes the state-wide brachytherapy service.
    • The W.P Holman Clinic also plays an active role in cancer education and research within Tasmania.
    • The Clinic is situated in the Launceston General Hospital complex and provides direct access to a range of medical, surgical and hospital services required to deliver quality, person-centred cancer care.

    Details of Appointment

    Permanent, part time, day worker position working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team.

    • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

    Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

    You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

    • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

    Eligibility:

    Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

    1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

    1. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in cancer nursing

    The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‐employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
