    Description

    Parramatta Marist High School is a Catholic school with a history and tradition spanning 200 years. Since 1875 it has been shaped by the Marist charism, one that flows from a basic trust in God and a desire to follow Christ in the way of Mary. Our pedagogy is based around Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom through a collaborative approach in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and Team-Teaching.

    Applications are invited for a Technologies Coordinator/Teacher from qualified teachers who demonstrate a sincere commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic education and possess appropriate teaching qualifications. Experience as a KLA Coordinator would be highly regarded.

    Key focus areas

    The Technologies Coordinator/Teacher will fit the following criteria:

  • Be organised, collegial and possess good communication skills in order to effectively coordinate the technologies faculty.
  • Contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of Technologies and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning.
  • A preparedness to learn and implement the pedagogies used within the school, namely Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom.
  • Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning.
  • Exemplary professional practice which includes building effective relationships and managing complex interactions, creating and maintaining engaging and intellectually challenging and safe learning environments, planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs.
  • Commitment to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.
  • Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.
  • Applicants from all the different technologies 'streams' are welcome to apply for the role.
  • Ability to teach VET Information Digital Technologies and/or Construction is an advantage but not essential.
