    The Role

    Providing front-line guidance and support in optimising the use of learning technologies, the Learning Technologist Support Officer will support staff and students in resolving technical issues relating to myMurdoch Learning environment. The successful candidate will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the myMurdoch Learning environment through testing major and incremental software updates and participating in projects exploring and/or implementing new technologies.

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    1.Provide enquiry management, helpdesk support and troubleshooting in relation to educational technology, including response to email and other queries and maintenance of the knowledge base.

    2.Use expert knowledge of digital learning systems and related technologies to provide guidance to academic and other learning and teaching support staff.

    3.Contribute to continuous improvement of myMurdoch Learning and related systems, including assistance with releases, upgrades, and new system developments.

    4.Maintain a current knowledge of relevant media, multimedia and educational technology developments within the University and externally.

    5.Contribute to effective collaboration and teamwork in the area of Learning Technologies to ensure the effective and seamless delivery of services to the wider University.

    6.Participate and provide support for projects exploring and/or implementing new technologies or any others determined by the wider Learning Technologies team.Position Description – Professional Positions Murdoch University

    7.Contribute to the information, advice and guidance available to staff in connection to technology enhanced learning and educational technology, including creation and regular updating of self-learning guides and technical documentation.

    8.Assist other staff in the wider portfolio with the development and design of web-based materials.

    9.Contribute to review and quality improvement activities.

    10.Carry out, and assist with, other duties as required

    What you'll bring to this role

  • Completion of a Bachelor Degree level qualification with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training,
  • Demonstrated successful experience providing day-to-day support in one or more medica, multimedia and educational technology areas, preferably in a University context,
  • Excellent literacy skills and proficiency in learning management systems, Microsoft Office applications and other University software programs,
  • High-level organisational, time and workload management skills,
  • Effective and efficient communication, customer service and interpersonal skills; with the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at a range of levels, including the ability to give clear and concise written and verbal guidance.
