    About the Role

    As the UX Lead, you will be responsible for the oversight of all app and website UX patterns and experiences across the group.

    You will be required to review and uplift the ways of working / Design ops in order to grow UX maturity across our business, leading a team of 4 UX/UI designers day to day, providing direction and guidance. Working with the head of experience design and GM digital you will assist with the planning of design activities for your team along with recruitment of other designers. You will have a proven track record of leading and mentoring a team of designers, growing their skillsets and delivering digital experiences from initial concept strategy to launched and maintained product.

    In addition to this you will be accountable for working with digital, product, marketing and IT development colleagues to plan the backlog of improvements across all our digital channels including our new MeGO, Virgin Money Australia and myBOQ apps.

    You will also be expected to get on the tools and use your extensive experience in UX/UI Design to evaluate, facilitate, design and contribute to user requirements, concepts, screen designs and user flows that will help us meet our business objectives whilst ensuring that the user is at the centre of our products.

    Leveraging a combination of design thinking, lean start up and agile methodologies the UI/UX Designer will be experienced in managing design processes end to end. The role balances strong customer understanding and design skills and hands on project involvement, stakeholder management and collaboration. You will be an advocate for human centred design, lean UX and understand how UX works in partnership with agile delivery within large complex organisations.

    About you

    We are looking for a strong people leader, someone who has have a proven track record of leading a team of designers, growing and steering the skillsets of others, and delivering digital experiences from initial concept strategy, to launched and maintained product. This role require end-to-end-execution, from insight and concept to go live across visual design (mobile and web) so we'd hope to appoint someone with that experience.

    Given this role partners with our Product managers and Developers, we'll need someone who can communicate effectively with out technical teams. Furthermore, technical expertise with design tools such as Figma/Sketch, Zeplin, InVision and Miro would be preferred.
