    The Role

    The Navy Aviation, Aircrew Training and Commons (NATC) Branch Executive Team is looking for someone with demonstrated understanding and/or experience in contract management and knowledge of finance policy, processes and systems, preferably in a Defence environment.

    You will exercise good judgement, demonstrate initiative and have a focus on continuous improvement. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable networking with a variety of stakeholders whilst building and sustaining key working relationships.

    As the Contracting and Administrative Support Officer, you will support the ongoing management of the Major Service Provider (MSP) Contract. A demonstrated ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team is desired. You will be required to exercise reasonable autonomy and accountability to assist with the delivery of professional services across multiple projects, including management of financial requirements, quarterly performance reviews, and contract updates.

    You will provide advice and assistance on procurement planning, contract formation and contract management activities ensuring compliance with Defence procurement legislation, policies, processes and procedures for procurement of professional services through the MSP arrangement. You will initiate mitigation strategies for the risks associated with MSP procurement activities, supplier performance and compliance with mandatory requirements, and suggest improvements.

    The role is accountable for leading and managing an APS5 Finance and Administration Officer. In line with this, you will be required to oversee and assist in the development of documentation for raising Purchase Orders, payment of invoices and managing budgets.

    This position is part of the highly motivated NATC Executive Team that directly supports the Director General of NATC to oversee the acquisition and sustainment of key aviation capabilities. Within the Executive Team, the NATC MSP Team manages all governance, contractual, and financial reporting aspects of the NATC MSP arrangement.
